the fame game

Last summer, before we were parents or even thinking about becoming parents, the hubby and I took a fabulous anniversary trip to Hollywood. We had a blast touring studios and riding around looking at celebrity mansions. We got to sit on the couch from Friends. We ate our anniversary dinner at Spago hoping to rub elbows with someone famous. But the closest that we came to meeting someone famous was this "siting" of Drew Barrymore on her balcony (way far in the background). Or it could have been her maid hanging out with a boyfriend on the balcony. Who really knows? We never met anyone famous. Until today.
This morning we made a family excursion to the Waffle House for breakfast and then a quick run over to Babies R Us for a shower gift. When we pulled into the parking lot there was a Safe Kids fair going on. There were tents and firetrucks and sheriff's deputies all checking car seats to see if they were properly installed. So we pulled up to have ours checked too. We waited and waited and waited ... About an hour after we'd gotten in line I saw a sign that said "Meet Eric Estrada, famous actor, here today." Hubby was so excited. He practically jumped out of his seat! Long story short, two hours later we drove away with our car seat improved to a much safer position but more importantly with a polaroid of Hubster meeting a famous actor. And yes, he did get it autographed too. It's a good thing our daughter isn't old enough to be embarrassed by us ... yet.

Found you via NaBloPoMo and thought I'd say Hi!

Just a couple of weeks ago we were in Vegas and saw the guy who originally played the Hulk. We totally stalked him, and eventually got a picture. Don't worry...you're not the only person to embarrass your kids! That's our job isn't it?

I have an autographed picture of Eric Estrada too! I didn't meet him though, a friend got it for me in college as a joke...it's an 8X10 and it says something like "To sweet Sarah"!
